Dolls share and not share. We make a doll-amulet share. Appearance and meaning

home / House

The traditional Dolya amulet doll is the personification of fate.

The most ancient female Deity Makosh endowed everyone with a share, and her assistants (Dolya and Nedolya, or Srecha and Nesrecha) spun the threads of fate for everyone. When fate was unsuccessful, they said: “Non-srecha spins finely”...

They asked Mokosh for a good share, a good fate, and for the girl this is of course: a good groom, a successful marriage, a prosperous life.

When making Doli's amulet doll, it is more appropriate than ever to adhere to the traditional approach: do not pick up needles, do not cut anything from Doli herself. This is not difficult to achieve. The doll consists of two parts: body and arms. Both parts can be made by winding threads on an object of suitable size and removing them without cutting.

For the body, white threads are usually used. After separating from the skein, do not cut the winding. We fix the neck, palms, and a protective cross without knots. (According to experience, woolen threads come undone no matter how much they are wound, it is better to fix them with a drop of glue.)
The skirt can be cut, there is no other way, but the body of Doli herself is without a cut and without a knot. Definitely with a protective cross.
We make the braid long and not thin (like mine), but we also remember the measure. Measure is harmony, harmony, beauty, balance, the golden mean. Of course, we listen to ourselves, who else but you yourself knows your share and knows what you would like from your Share. Love and thank your Share, whatever it may be, create with your thoughts and hands! Look, gratitude and love will be answered in kind!

1 Woolen or half-woolen threads, red ribbon.

2 We wind the threads for the braid (usually the length of the elbow, and the thickness according to your feeling) and white threads for the body. We don’t cut the winding for the body like I did. (It’s too late that the body, like the arms, can’t be cut). We thread the braid into the head.

3 Prepare winding for hands. Remove without cutting.

4 We fix the neck with a red thread, place our hands under the neck and apply a protective cross, fixing the palms.

5 We select the threads and item for winding the skirt at our discretion.

6 We cut the winding of the skirt from the bottom, and pass a thread through the upper bend and tie it around the waist. We braid the braid and tie a red bow.

7 We put on a belt and decorate our head with a red ribbon.

May your Share be happy!

On March 21, we celebrate the Slavic holiday Vernal Equinox Day and International Puppeteer Day. Our ancestors attached great importance to dolls. They were important artifacts, almost members of the family, Vera Verchenko, head of the Barnaul creative workshop “Svetlitsa” and the Center for Slavic Culture, is convinced.

The Russian amulet doll has always been a mystery to researchers. Its roots, origins, and purpose are not entirely clear. But she protected from evil forces and the evil eye, troubles and diseases. Our ancestors believed that life would be easier with it. “You can’t cook porridge with overseas Barbies, but always with ours. The doll helps us build and live,” Vera laughs.

African dolls are evil. And ours, the Russians, take us away. This is the main difference.

Play dolls

They differed significantly from ritual and protective ones. Games - for children. They took pieces of rags, twigs, sticks, spoons and made dolls. When making them, one could use scissors, threads, and needles (because they do not carry any sacred meaning). Play dolls had no faces. Eyes, nose and mouth were not drawn. This was done, says Vera, so that the doll could not absorb information and would not decide to start acting and influencing, would not have the will and would not be able to cause harm. People, not dolls, should dictate the rules of the game.

“Fairytale therapy is a wonderful thing. With the help of fairy tales you can understand what a child thinks about life. For me, Baba Yaga was never a negative character. Her doll was made extremely rarely, except perhaps at Kolyadki... From the play dolls one could understand how children were treated and what kind of atmosphere there was in the house,” says Vera.

Play dolls were often made for sick children. If a child got sick, the mother put the doll in the cradle so that it would take all the illness for itself. After the child felt better, the doll was burned.

Ritual dolls

There are more than 200 types of ritual dolls. Many did not reach us. They were made without scissors and needles. The rags were just torn and tied. Such dolls worked in certain rituals. For example, Maslenitsa.

Swimming doll

Over the winter she absorbed all the bad things, and in the spring they put her on the water and she swam away.

Krupenichka and the Rich Man

These ritual dolls were made for a good harvest. Krupenichka is a female doll, very common. It is based on a bag filled with expensive grain. They placed it in the red corner next to the icons. So that the house has full bins and a good harvest.

The rich man is a male doll (by the way, there are very few male dolls). It was filled with the grain that the owner chose (oats, wheat, buckwheat). They tried to richly decorate these dolls with beads, shreds and ribbons. They could put coins or raisins inside - something that brings prosperity to the house.

Krupenichka and the Rich Man could be used for several years in a row, or they could be burned after harvesting. Especially if the harvest was bad.

“If the year was fruitful, then it was the doll that contributed to this. She was left to work the following year. But if the harvest was weak, the doll was burned and a new one was made,” explains Vera.

Desire

This doll is between protective and ritual (on the verge of sacred) dolls. It was made by girls in childhood and kept until old age. The doll was personal, so it was hidden in a chest. No one has ever seen her. This doll was decorated with embroidery, ribbons, and beads. There are two types: Tiny-Khavroshechka and Poskakushka. The first was responsible for the yarn. The second - for a good, handsome and rich husband, for expensive gifts, for everything to be good in life.

The girl took the doll, said what she wanted, and sewed on a piece of jewelry in return. Beads and ribbons were considered gifts, because if a wish was granted, something had to be given in return.

There were Changeling Desires. This decorated doll was made in childhood and kept until old age. In order for her to fulfill her wish, she had to be given a gift, a bead had to be sewn on, a ribbon had to be tied, a piece had to be tied. This is a reward for a gift. No one has ever seen her. It was a completely personal doll. Like personal correspondence now.

On the one hand, the doll was made light, richly decorated, a smile was drawn, on the other hand, it was made dark, almost not decorated and a sad mouth was drawn. It was believed that when a girl was married off and she wanted to talk to someone, she pestered the Zhelannitsa. She told the light side good things, and the dark side bad things.

“The girl gets married and comes to a new house, and the relationships in the new family are complicated, she has a hard time, everyone tried to pin it on her. The young woman took out a doll and told how bad her life was. She won't go to her mother. If everything was fine, she turned to the bright side,” says Vera Verchenko.

Makosh, Dolya and Nedolya

Makosh is a goddess, female patroness. By the age of ten, a girl should already be able to spin, weave, and embroider. This female amulet was always depicted with a spinning wheel. The doll helped with housework and handicrafts. It was decorated as richly as possible. The more richly she was decorated, the more skilled the girl was.

“This doll was made for herself by a little girl or a young girl of marriageable age. Often, father and mother chose good houses and rich suitors for handicraft girls. If she was a good embroiderer, she was protected from field work. After the wedding, Makosh was often placed in the red corner to show which girl in the house was a needlewoman,” says Vera Verchenko.

Dolya and Nedolya are Mokosh’s assistant dolls. Two sister goddesses. Share is the goddess of happiness. She spun the golden thread of human destiny. If the thread is straight, it means that the person’s road is smooth, without obstacles. The share was beautiful, with a long braid (connection with the world and all that is good). It was decorated richly with embroidery and ribbons. Nedolya symbolized troubles and misfortune. This doll was made sloppy; she was depicted as an unkempt old woman. The thread of fate was also spun. But she sewed with knots, which meant a difficult fate for a person.

Makosh could be shown to other people, Dolya was kept in a chest, and Nedolya was burned so that the misfortune would go away quickly.

Doll Bell

Girls made them before spring festivities and gave them to a close friend. Bright, colored rags were used for making. The dolls had bells, rang, were brightly and cheerfully decorated, and carried positive emotions, wishes for goodness, a good life, and peace.

No scissors, rags were torn and tied by hand.

Spiridon-Solstice

Male doll - amulet with a wheel. The girl gave it to the man, the helmsman of life, if she wanted him to change, to treat her better. To ensure that the man walked on the right path, the doll had a wheel. She was wearing shoes with a belt. The desired qualities of a man were put into the belts.

Sacred (protective) dolls

Protective dolls were always kept at home, in closed chests. It was a sacred place. Only the owner could see them. Such dolls were made only when they were in a good mood. Expensive fabrics were used in production. They did them with slander. Getting into a woman's chest was considered a great sin. It was equivalent to murder. These were protective dolls.

Feverish women

Household dolls were made by the mistress of the house herself, showing skill at the highest level. As a rule, there were 12 dolls at once. Each has its own name. Names were given to ward off something. If you didn't live well, the doll was called Poverty. If someone was sick, they called fever fever... They were made according to all the rules and rituals. They did it with sacred meaning. The woman chose strings, scraps, rags, made them and told these dolls about the problems in the house. The last knot was always tied with the last word of the hostess. The doll contained a wish for all evil to go away.

Feverish dolls are family dolls; they were kept behind the stove (no one saw them there). Behind the stove they caught up with what was happening in the house. All illnesses and poverty were transferred to these dolls. When everything went well, they were burned.

Ten-handle

It was believed that this doll helps with household chores.

“In the East they got a second wife, but here they made the Ten-Handed doll,” Vera laughs.

The doll takes on some of the women's worries. It was done by a married girl so that she would have help in the house. It was made from yarn or fabric. Each one was made with ten arms.

Often such a doll was given to a girl for a wedding so that she could do everything in the house.

Lovebirds

This doll was made from straw or rags. It was very common. It got its name because of one component. One wand - one hand, that's why Lovebirds.

It was most often given as a gift for a wedding or at certain moments in life (when it was necessary). The lovebirds were decorated with new fabric. If they made a doll for themselves, they tried to use used fabrics.

If the young gave birth to a child, then a small doll was attached to the Lovebirds. The number of children in a family could be determined by these dolls.

Day Night

This doll was made double-sided. One half of the doll was light - Day, the other half was dark - Night. But such a doll is difficult to make without needles, so the production was simplified. They began to make dolls that were separate, but tied together with thread. This doll is quite rare. She is on the line between a protective doll and a play doll.

Doll - mirror and teacher

“Many women have forgotten how to hold a needle in their hands, not to mention other skills and abilities,” Vera complains. - I learned to knit at the age of six. My nieces are proficient in all types of crafts. They teach for children. And playing with dolls is about motor skills, communication, education, and the weather in the house.”

The Russian amulet doll has always been a mystery to researchers, since its roots, origins, and purpose are not entirely clear. But it was she who was the amulet from evil forces, from the evil eye, from troubles and illnesses. People believed that life was easier with her.

A doll made by a child’s hands helps you understand what’s going on in his little, unintelligent head, what thoughts are spinning there. Playing with such dolls helps to identify problems that arise in a child in the early stages - reasons for refusing to communicate with peers, for example, or fear of the dark. Dolls also help to understand what stage of development the child is at.

Very often, children 8-10 years old do not know how to tie knots. This does not speak, of course, about their mental abilities - rather, about gaps in upbringing and education. And here the parents “are horrified” and finally begin to pay attention to the child - to his needs, desires, capabilities and abilities. When a mother and child make a doll, you can accurately trace the relationships in the family - authoritarian, friendly, etc. If a child is making a doll, it is important to look at what colors he uses - dark or light. What kind of toys children have - this is how children are treated in the family.

And, Vera says, this is the most gorgeous layer for showing a child many materials: linen, calico, calico, threads, ribbons and everything else that is involved in making such a doll. When making a pupa, different types of knots are used, different types of windings are used - from oneself, towards oneself, knots, crossings, etc.

“This is all not only interesting, but also helps to develop creative imagination, needlework skills, motor skills and imaginative thinking, since you must first “see” your doll, and then bring it to life,” she says.

Spatial thinking is also “developed” - you need to understand if the doll is made to be hung above the crib. For example, what size it can be, how long the “skirt” is, how to correctly correlate the height of the torso and the length of the arms, etc.

And, of course, the most important thing, probably, is the transfer of our traditions, our knowledge and skills from ancestors to descendants. Preservation of the culture and experience of previous generations. Dolls help to correctly evaluate the seasons, family relationships, be “girlfriends,” carry positive emotions, and be a pleasant gift.

By the way, you can understand a lot from human-made dolls, even without being a psychologist. How neat, firm in his convictions, attentive, punctual and pedantic he is.

Oleg Kupchinsky,
Daria Savchinskaya.

Each person has his own destiny. This is the path through life that was determined for him by higher powers that control all earthly processes. Depending on many circumstances, these paths can be completely different. For some, destiny is a wide avenue with vast opportunities, while others are destined to make their way through life along a barely guessable path in a dense forest, constantly making their way. Our ancestors called fate Dolya, because in the pantheon of ancient Slavic gods there is a goddess of fate and luck - Dolya or Srecha.

According to some sources, the goddess Dolya is the youngest daughter, according to others, it is Makosh herself in a different form. The point is that it is the Share that weaves the thread of fate for each person from an amorphous metaphysical tangle, and how it does it (and whether it does it at all) determines the entire human life. It must be said that Mokosh’s eldest daughter, Nedolya or Nesrecha, is the antipode of her younger sister, the thread she spins is thin and often breaks. The life of people whose destiny Nedola got to weave becomes the same.

— It turns out that if everything goes well in life, then Dolya takes care of you?

- Absolutely right, and constant failures and troubles directly indicate that the person got Nedolya. In this case, you should not complain about fate, but strive to change it for the better. In order for the goddess Dolya to turn her attention to a person, our ancestors used a rag doll, the Dolya amulet, which everyone made for themselves. Nevertheless, the misfortunes and troubles that Nedolya spun for people could be returned to her with the help of Nedolya’s ritual rag doll, which was slandered accordingly and burned.

Share doll - history and meaning

Sometimes it happened that even though a person was given a good destiny at birth, his Share did not help him at all. This happened because people, for various reasons, were doing something completely different from what was intended for them. And, if nothing works out for a long time, there is no harmony in the house, there is no development, then the person leaves to look for his share, which until now has been doing something unknown. Most often, during travel, this fateful meeting with Share took place (compare - Srecha, meeting, lot), after which the person understood what he needed to do and how to live further.

But there were situations when everything went wrong, although before there was a successful and happy life. Probably, it was his Dolya who was distracted, and Nedolya grabbed the spindle with human destiny from her and let’s weave her thin, torn threads into it. Then you just needed to remind Mokosha’s youngest daughter about yourself and attract her attention. This is precisely why they made the Dolya doll - a rag amulet of the ancient Slavs.

The Share doll is a personal doll that is designed to change a person’s destiny for the better. You need to try to make sure that the doll is okay and likes exactly the person whose share you have to take care of. Therefore, before, each person made a Share doll for himself with his own hands.

Doll Dolya - how to make

The design of this rag amulet resembles the classic Kuvadka. The main difference is the long braid. We see similar braids on other rag dolls, which leads to certain thoughts. For example, the Happiness amulet doll is made in a very similar way, and a very important element is the braid. This gives reason to believe that the original reasons for the appearance of these dolls are very similar, if not the same - both are engaged in changing life for the better. One of the few differences is that the Happiness doll is a female doll, and everyone could make Share.

A very common version of the Doli doll is made from woolen threads of three colors - white, yellow and red. The choice of colors is clear - they took the brightest ones, and the material too - an analogy with spinning the threads of fate. In addition, when creating a doll, traditionally fabric rags or bast are used. By and large, it turned out that it is not so important what the Share doll is made of, because the main thing is the thoughts and desires that the author puts into it.

The skirt can be cut, there is no other way, but the body of Doli herself is without a cut and without a knot. Definitely with a protective cross.

We make the braid long and not thin, but we also remember the measure.

1. Woolen or half-woolen threads, red ribbon.

2. We wind threads for the braid (usually elbow length, and thickness according to your feeling) and white threads for the body. We do not cut the body wrap. We thread the braid into the head.

3. Prepare winding for hands. Remove without cutting.

4. We fix the neck with a red thread, place our hands under the neck and apply a protective cross, fixing the palms.

5. We select the threads and item for winding the skirt at our discretion.

6. We cut the winding of the skirt from the bottom, and pass a thread through the upper bend and tie it around the waist. We braid the braid and tie a red bow.

7. We put on a belt and decorate the head with a red ribbon.

Spell on a doll

Share sits in Makoshina’s upper room, spins and spins threads, gives a happy life
I’ll come closer to Dole, I’ll bow to her lower,
Oh, you, Dolya-Dolyushka, Makosha’s assistant, born and named at me (..) look, turn around,
Share your happy threads with me!
Like the Valley, a white thread is woven into the fabric of my life,
So my body is filled with health and strong strength
I can be clean and strong with a white thread
Illnesses, diseases, damage and evil eyes are unknown!
Like an orange thread, Share took it into her hands and wove it into my life,
So my affairs have revived and improved, any of my business is arguing and boiling in my hands,
Prosperity-income-well-being flows into my life, fills me with energy.
And when the thread of gold began to be used, its share wove it into other threads,
So my path became straight and easy, wealth and gold grew
Everything that Dolya gave me was surrounded by a red protective thread,
She hid from the banner, black eyes, human envy!
Thank you, Dolyushka!
A doll endowed with the power of the Share, woven from rainbow threads,
created for me as a helper,
what is said and agreed upon attracts me into my life, and protects my home
Let it be so!

A Doll for luck- a little girl with her arms raised up towards the sun. She protects, helps in business and in finding one’s purpose and happiness. This doll is also unique in that it has small legs. It helps its owner not only stand firmly on her feet, but also turn to her wisdom, draw on the power of the earth, leaning on the scythe. Her protective power is, like any woman’s, in her hair. That is why the doll has such a long braid on which she rests.

By creating such a doll, a woman weaves the intention right into her braid - to be happy. The doll attracts good events for its owner, makes her life easier, and makes her days joyful and positive.

They give a doll for good luck, wishing a woman to find her place in life, purpose,.

(c) From the network

We all enjoyed reading the myths of Ancient Greece, but it turns out that our history also contains quite interesting legends. Since ancient times, people believed in different gods and told different stories about them from generation to generation. Today we will talk about the goddess Makosh, as she was considered the main patroness of needlework and crafts. At the end of October, according to the calendar, there was a holiday called Makosh. Together with her daughters Dolya and Nedolya, she determines the Fates of people and Gods, weaving the Threads of Fate. Makosh spins the Thread of Human Life - and Dolya and Nedolya help. A long time ago, people turned to the Goddess Makosha so that she would trust her youngest daughter, Goddess Dole, to weave the Thread of Fate into a ball.

It is interesting that the Slavs used to believe that a person himself influences how his life turns out. Makosh creates a divine thread, and man weaves his own lace of life. And what comes out is in the hands of man. In the Old Church Slavonic language, “day” sounded like “to weave”, this reflected the attitude towards life as weaving. Living means weaving the lace of your life day after day. It was believed that Makosh patronized not only weaving and needlework, but also female fertility, the harvest, housekeeping and prosperity in the house. To those people who were not lazy, but worked in the fields, orchards and orchards by the sweat of their brow, putting their souls into their difficult labor, Goddess Makosh sent her youngest Daughter - the blond Goddess Share. About careless people, who were lazy and did not work well, they said that “Makosh sent Nedolya to measure the harvest.”

The light goddess Dolya is a beautiful, eternally young spinner, firmly holds the thread of human life in her tender and affectionate hands, tying knots of meetings and successes on it. The dark goddess Nedolya is a sad old woman who spins a special part of human life. From her granite spindle comes a crooked thread of failure.

The goddess Makosh and her assistants Dolya and Nedolya have come down to us not only in books and on canvases, but have also been preserved as. The amulet doll Dolya is made from threads of amulet colors - yellow and red, because it itself is connected to the threads. The main feature of this protective doll is its cheerful braid sticking up. The doll is a talisman and is hung by its braid, which means “to catch luck by the tail.” Every woman needs the protective doll Share. You can make it for yourself, or you can give it as a gift.

You should make the rag doll Nedol only for yourself. You can do it in different ways, but following a number of rules:

    Red thread cannot be used

    Can't decorate

    You can't tie a belt

You can't talk to a doll. All sorrows, sorrows, failures and problems are put into Nedolya.

After production, the doll is burned.

When Nedolya is burning, you need to mentally burn all your Nedolya and thank the doll for its help.

You need to do Nedol alone

How to make a folk doll Nedolya:

    1. The base can be made from rolled paper.

    2. Take several sheets of A4 format, write on the sheet all your sorrows, what you want to get rid of, and roll it into a tube. Again, we will make a Nedole doll from paper rolled into a tube (it will burn better).

    3. From your own old, worn item, tear off a piece of fabric and twist it onto a post.

    4. Tear off a narrow strip of fabric and tie it around one third of the twist, leaving long tails. The result is a head and arms.

    5. From the same old thing we make a skirt for the Nedola doll and tie a scarf.

    6. Your Nedolya doll is ready. Carry her to the fire.

The folk doll Nedol is useful at least for self-hypnosis, first figuratively getting rid of troubles, and then coping with sorrows in real life. They have long been played not only for children to play with, but also for business: to help, protect and protect.

Love your story and enjoy your creativity!
