DIY Christmas story. Inexpensive but beautiful DIY Christmas crafts for home, kindergarten and school. Simple Christmas crafts for kindergarten

home / Traditions

Hello, dear readers! I congratulate you on the coming winter holidays, the Great Christmastide! I wish you good health, happiness, prosperity, love, kindness and all earthly and unearthly blessings!

Today I bring to your attention the topic of DIY Christmas crafts for children and adults. Man is endowed with unlimited possibilities of multifaceted creativity and various ideas. Humanity has accumulated a great many examples of creating various crafts with our own hands that decorate our homes. I want to talk about the most, in my opinion, simple and interesting “inventions” for the holiday of the Nativity of Christ.

Christmas

Since ancient times, the Day of the Nativity of Christ has been ranked among the Great Holidays by the church. Until the 4th century, Christmas was celebrated on January 6, it was combined with the feast of Epiphany and was called Epiphany. Pope Julius 1 in 337 divided these holidays and set the date of birth of Jesus Christ on December 25 (January 7 according to the Julian calendar).

This holiday was established in honor of the birth of the Son of God by the Virgin Mary. Jesus' parents Mary and Joseph lived in Nazareth. By order of the ruler Augustus, they came to Bethlehem to take a census of the entire population. All the places in the hotels were occupied, the whole city was overcrowded and they found themselves an overnight stay in a cattle cave. It was here, in the silence of the night, that a wondrous miracle happened - the birth of the Divine Child, the Savior of the world. Mary swaddled her son and put him in a manger where they put hay for the cattle. The first to know about this were the shepherds, who grazed their cattle at night near the cave. appeared before them Angel God and announced great joy about the birth of the Son of God. The shepherds appeared in the cave with a bow and told about the Angel.

Three wise men from the East came to the newborn Christ with gifts (gold, incense and myrrh). These wise men were led to the baby by a wonderful star over Bethlehem. Since then, the custom began to decorate the New Year tree with a hexagonal star, as well as angels. The traditions of Christmastide from Christmas to Epiphany are rooted in the Slavic customs of celebrating the Winter Solstice. Kolyad is an ancient pagan holiday, which later merged with Christmas.

For Christians all over the world, the bright holiday of the Nativity of Christ has a warm, touching character that penetrates the human soul. This is a family holiday, permeated with an atmosphere of universal harmony and love. On this day, peace, friendship, tranquility and joy reign in the house.

On the eve of the Christmas holiday, homes were decorated, the Christmas tree was decorated, pies, gingerbreads, pretzels, Ukrainian knishes, etc. were baked in each house. For dinner on the holy evening (December 6), 12 Lenten dishes were served and, of course, kutya. Carolers with a star on a pole entered houses, sang Christmas songs and praised Christ. They were treated to various pastries. There were dressing up in animal costumes, skits and entire performances, and various fortune-telling events. According to ancient custom, the most cherished wish made on Christmas night will certainly come true.

Christmas through the eyes of children

In the lives of children, Christmas is the brightest and most magical holiday with a huge number of stories and legends, songs and carols. They prepare for the great holiday of Christmas in advance and children take part in all activities with pleasure.

My grandmother told how Christmas was celebrated in a village in the Poltava region in the years after World War II. People took fire victims into their surviving huts, shared their last piece of bread with each other, but Christmas was celebrated very joyfully. Godparents bought young ladies made from dough and painted with multi-colored icing for their goddaughters, and brown horses for their godchildren. These gifts brought indescribable joy to the children. Children helped decorate the huts with towels, embroidered pictures, handmade lace curtains, snowflakes, the table was set with a white woven tablecloth with embroidery (white on white). The whole family made Christmas tree decorations from cardboard, paper, cotton wool, acorns, pine cones, and nuts in foil. The boys made toys from wood. At Christmas, the indoor Christmas flower always bloomed with bright crimson flowers. This whole festive atmosphere made a huge impression. How the children rejoiced when they were tasked with carrying the godparents’ food, and as a reward they received coins and gingerbread from them. The children were incredibly happy about the arrival of the carolers and their singing. On the afternoon of January 7, adults and children sledded, played snowballs, sang songs, danced to the accordion and had fun until late in the evening .

Christmas through the eyes of children– this is winter, snow, sleds, ice skates, DIY crafts for decorating the Christmas tree and home, drawings, postcards. And also Christmas carols, firecrackers, gifts, photographs, poems and songs, dancing and fun.

Crafts for Christmas

Nowadays it is difficult to surprise our children with anything. Most of all, children value crafts made with their own hands together with dad and mom. They are priceless, because they contain a piece of a person’s soul.

I offered my four-year-old son with my own hands make crafts to decorate our home for Christmas, as well as greeting cards and Christmas tree decorations. He really liked this “program” and we got down to business.

Tinsel Christmas tree

We started with the most interesting thing - decorating our home with a touch of magical Christmas motifs. The Christmas tree is an indispensable attribute of this bright holiday. We made a mini topiary Christmas tree with our own hands. We made a cone pattern from thick cardboard, glued it with Moment glue and painted it silver. Along the perimeter of the cone, needle-shaped threads of green tinsel mixed with candies were glued (from bottom to top).

A medium-sized flower pot was wrapped in red velvet paper, weighted with plasticine and our Christmas tree was glued to the pot. Decorated with red and gold beads, tiny snowflakes, carved from paper, silver serpentine bows. A star was cut out of thick cardboard, painted red and secured with glue at the very top of the Christmas tree.

Another option is a Christmas tree made of candies.

Peace to you, good luck, health and happiness!!!

Sincerely, Elena.

Christmas is a special holiday and to some extent new for our people, although believers, of course, have always celebrated it as the bright day of the Nativity of Christ. Therefore, some specific form of congratulations has not yet emerged, as is typical for secular holidays such as New Year, March 8, etc. Christmas is a spiritual holiday. Therefore, congratulations and wishes should be special: be strong in spirit, strive to become highly moral, spiritually developed people, etc.

Christmas is a holiday, which means it cannot do without gifts.

The first Christmas gifts can probably be called those that the Magi brought to Jesus - gold, frankincense and myrrh.

Of course, everyone expects gifts at Christmas: both adults and children. What and how to give for Christmas? It would be nice to choose a gift with spiritual content. This could be any colorful book, a brightly decorated Bible, zodiac signs in the form of jewelry or souvenirs, a beautiful decorative candle, etc. But, of course, if there are children in the house, you can’t do without sweets.

How you present your Christmas gift is equally important. And here history gives us different ideas.

In Europe, it was customary to hang socks in the house around Christmas - on the fireplace, by the front door, by the crib. People believed that it was in the sock that one could find a Christmas present. You can knit such a sock (of course, several times larger than a real one) and be sure to have stripes - red and green. Or you can sew a so-called Christmas boot, putting all your love and imagination into it, and then another little thing will appear in your house that you won’t be ashamed to pass on to your grandchildren.

The base of the boot is very easy to make. It rather resembles a child’s felt boot, and you can take it as a pattern, tracing the felt boot on thick paper, or draw it freely.

But at the same time, remember that the “neck” of the boot should be wide enough so that your palm can easily fit in, then it will be convenient to put in and take out gifts. So, we cut out the boot pattern from thick paper. Now, using this base, you will need to cut out six parts: two linings, two parts made of padding polyester and two upper parts - the most elegant ones. For the front part of the boot, you can take anything - from coarse burlap to exquisite brocade or expensive lace. Of course, if you chose a rustic style and took burlap, you need to take care of the decor. Wooden beads, original buttons, cones, rings, and artificial flowers can come in handy here. The combination of coarse burlap and the finest lace looks very stylish. Keep in mind that the design of the front part of the boot must be done first, before you have sewn all the parts. When the decoration of the boot is ready, you can proceed to the next stage. Fold the inside of the front part of the boot with padding polyester (two parts) and sew it, moving 2-3 mm from the edge. Then, folding the resulting parts with the right sides inward, sew, departing 0.5 cm from the edge. Make notches on the curves with small scissors. Fold the two lining pieces right sides together and sew them together, departing 0.5 cm from the edge. You now have two pieces. Turn the lining piece inside out, insert the second piece of the boot into it - face to face, sew them along the long edge. Again, make notches on the curves. Turn inside out and press seams. All you have to do is process the short section of the boot. You can do this with bias tape, you can sew it end-to-end and tie it with lace, or you can make a fur trim. Don't forget to sew a small loop into the back seam of the short hem so that the boot can be hung.

The original gift wrapping is ready! All that remains is to hang it in a prominent place and every night of the Christmas holidays put small gifts there so that in the morning you can watch the happy eyes of the baby pulling out another surprise from the boot. By the way, if there are several children in the house, you can make a personalized boot for each of them by embroidering on it the child’s name or a monogram of the capital letter of his name.

Elena Vyrodova

Hello!

I have been working in kindergarten for nothing since September 2015. I wasn’t particularly interested in creative arts and handicrafts, maybe only during my school years)

So, all my skills were recently acquired while working in kindergarten. And as it turned out, this is a very interesting and exciting matter.

We had a competition in January" Christmas tale". I wanted to take part, try my hand (well, you know, points and all that also stimulate). I’ll say right away that in our garden all the teachers are just some kind of sorceresses! Such do crafts That's breathtaking!

There were a lot of thoughts about what to do, what technique to use, especially since I don’t have many of these techniques at my “disposal” yet. Even in a dream I dreamed of some details of the future crafts!

As a result, this was born creation:

My “carved houses”, which I have already presented to your consideration, were used.

And also “Christmas trees”, I’m talking about them too wrote:

The wire tinsel Christmas trees turned out very cute!

For the lake, an oval mirror of suitable size was used, which was sprinkled with a little foam balls and covered with a net, in which flower bouquets are “dressed up”)

I wanted the forest to be not only artificial, but also to have something “alive” present. Therefore, “real trees” were made, a suitable bush was selected, the branches of which looked like small trees bending in the wind. Covered them with foam balls. It turned out very beautiful!

For the general background, vytynankas were used, fortunately there are a great many of them on the Internet now!

The basis crafts A piece of plywood cut in the shape of an oval is used; the side walls are cardboard attached to a strip of plastic. Tinsel on a wire frame was used for decoration.

I'll share my joy) 1st place in kindergarten received!

I would be very glad if you liked it, and if someone might use these ideas for themselves! Thank you for your attention!

Good day! Coming soon is a traditional Christian holiday, usually celebrated with family and full of evangelical symbolism. Many Christmas elements have become familiar New Year's items: candles, a green Christmas tree as a symbol of eternal life, decorations in the form of a star and angels, etc. Therefore, when decorating your home (apartment or house) for Christmas, we’ll simply complement the existing New Year’s decor with separate elements. As you might have guessed, today we are discussing DIY Christmas crafts.

DIY paper Christmas crafts

Creating crafts for any holiday is a very exciting activity for children and adults. You can make toys, cut out unusual appliques, and glue real pictures from colored paper. It is especially interesting to prepare for Christmas or New Year: make little angels, make nativity scenes, make light and beautiful snowflakes - in a word, create children's crafts. Some of them are suitable for a competition at school.

Hair.
I started from the top of my head. We pick up the thread folded in half.
2. We bring the thread inside the head. We leave it on the hook.
3. And insert the hook into the next loop.
4. Grab the hair again and bring it to the inside.
5. We get 2 loops on the hook inside the head. Now we pull the last loop into the first.

6. There is again 1 loop left on the hook. Insert the hook again into the next loop outward. and repeat the operation.
7. On the inside you get such a “pigtail”. Try not to pull the hairs on the outside or over-tighten the loops on the inside. They are not yet secured and you can easily pull out a hair, then everything that has already been done will unravel...

8. In this way we attach as many hairs as you think necessary. You can simply make 2-3 rows in a circle (forehead-back of the head) and collect it in a ponytail.

We fill only the bottom of the handle, leaving the main part empty so that the handles fit the “torso” beautifully.
16 rub. 4ub. Leave the thread for sewing.
We sew the handles in the places where the shoulders and in front, as if they were folded into a lock. We fasten the handles together on rows 2-3 using a thread and a needle. Try to do this so that the thread with which you sew the arms is not visible.
Wings (2 parts)

3 rubles *1sc, inc* 6 times (18)
4r. *2sc, inc* 6 times (24)
5 rub. *3sc, inc* 6 times (30)
6-8r. 30 sc in a circle.
Fold the circle in half, put just a little fluff in the middle, and connect with the same fans as at the bottom of the dress. * 1 sc, skip 1 loop, 5 dc in the second, skip 1 loop, * 1 sc, etc. You should get 4 fans. Leave the thread for sewing.

First sew the wings together, and then secure them to the back.
Nimbus.
Yellow or orange yarn color.
We collect a chain of air loops. I cast on 25 ch, connect it into a ring and knit another row of the same number of sc in the circle. Leave the thread for sewing. Sew a halo on the head and hide all the tails from the threads.

Bell: Use a red thread to cast on a chain of 5 sts. p. and close the connection in a circle. Art.
1st r.: 3 c. lifting point, 9 tbsp. s/n into the resulting ring.
Row finish connection. Art.

We sew on the eyes of the angel, I sewed on the buttons.

She tied her hair in a ponytail and decorated it with a ribbon.

This is the kind of angel we got.

Cloud of ceiling tiles
Draw the outline of a cloud on the ceiling tile. cut along the contour.

Paint the edge of the cloud with blue gouache and let it dry.

We cover the cloud with water-based varnish (2-3 times), each layer must dry. Glue cotton pads to the center, and cardboard stars to the blue outline.

Our angels are ready.

Now let's start designing the composition.

Christmas angel made of twine

Quite unusual, wouldn't you agree?

Required materials and tools:
Jute twine, Master glue, PVA, tweezers, small scissors, plastic stationery bag (file), kebab skewer, cardboard for the base, tape, snowflakes, sequins for decoration.
1. Cut and glue three cones from cardboard. (1 for the torso, 2 for the arms).
2. Apply a thin layer of glue to the cone in rows and gradually, starting from the bottom, glue it with twine.

3. After the cone is completely covered with twine. We randomly make a simple pattern on the cones with twine.

4. Draw wings of any shape (at your discretion).
5. We put the drawing into a file, glue the twine along the drawing, then fill all the wings with the pattern.

6. When all the planned elements are completed, let the glue dry, remove the twine wings from the file and remove the excess glue with small scissors.
7. We made the angel's head from paper and tape. They squeezed several sheets of newspaper tightly, rolled them into an oval, and covered the top with tape. Use an awl to make a hole in the oval at the bottom (where the oval is already).
8. We put the blank on the pencil and begin gluing it on top with cord, in rows close to each other.

9. We make hair: We cover the kebab skewer with tape with tape, wrap the twine not very tightly, and secure the ends of the twine with tape.
Cover the twine with PVA glue. We wait for the glue to dry and carefully remove the twine.

10. Glue the wings and head to the body.

11. Glue the hair.
12. We decorate our angel with snowflakes and sequins. We decided to remove the blue half-beads and leave only snowflakes, sequins and stars.

13. Our Christmas angel is ready! We wish everyone creative success!

A wonderful Christmas theme for Christmas tree decorations and individual decorative pendants. They symbolize the angel bringing Good News and create a unique flavor of this wonderful holiday. The most common design consists of a paper or cardboard cone topped with a ball or a picture of a curly head cut out of a postcard or an old magazine, and wings that are attached to the back of the cone.

DIY Christmas gift

Handmade Christmas gifts for each loved one are much more pleasing than factory-made, store-bought souvenirs. Christmas is a special holiday, imbued with an indescribable atmosphere.

Homemade gifts that hold a piece of your soul will help make this holiday even brighter and warmer.

Simple DIY Christmas gifts, a master class on the creation of which will now be shown here, can be made from round decorative lace napkins. In addition to them, you will need large silver beads, transparent white or silver ribbon, white and silver paper, scissors and reliable glue. At a minimum, you will need to use two napkins, but it is better to make several gifts at once, then the material consumption will be optimal.

From a napkin we cut out a piece about the size of one quarter of it. We cut out the same piece from the second napkin.

We combine the edges of the cutout on one napkin and fix it with glue. The result is a pointed cone.

We take two cut out fragments and glue them together, like angel wings.

Glue these wings to the top of one cone.

Using this principle, we make as many blanks as we need gifts.

Now draw two circles on a white piece of paper. One circle will be needed for one workpiece.

Let's cut them out. If we make several gifts, then we will need more circles.

We cut out circles of smaller diameter from silver paper and glue them into the center of the larger circles. The craft will look beautiful if the inner circle is cut out of a translucent paper sheet.

In the middle of the inner circle we fix a large silver bead with glue.

Now we need to arm ourselves with a needle and white thread.

With their help, we sew a circle with a glued bead to the top of our winged cone.

Your DIY Christmas gift is almost done! All that remains is to tie a ribbon to it, making a loop out of it.

We have a charming Christmas angel.

You can connect several of these angels together and you will have a beautiful Christmas garland.

DIY Christmas crafts with children, photo ideas

This kind of creativity is an opportunity to add a little magic to your holiday decorations. What crafts are relevant for Christmas? Since this is a church holiday, DIY Christmas crafts with children should be themed. You can make angels, a Christmas tree, a star, garlands, as well as cute gifts for family, loved ones and friends. Both in kindergarten and at home, you can make crafts from improvised materials, cardboard, colored paper, thread, rain, fabric and other materials.

  • a small piece of foam;
  • markers;
  • glue.
  1. Fold each napkin in half, leave one like that, and fold the second again.
  2. Place a napkin folded in half onto a napkin folded in four so that you get a dress and wings.
  3. We fasten the napkins together with a toothpick, bring one edge up, onto which we put a piece of foam. This will be the angel's head.
  4. We tie two ribbons. One to the toothpick so that you get a bow, where the remaining ribbon is glued around the foam. The second serves as a suspension and clings to the top of the foam.
  5. Using felt-tip pens we draw the mouth, nose, eyes.

Angel made from plastic plates

You can make DIY Christmas crafts with your children from seemingly unsuitable materials. So, a small angel can be made from disposable plastic plates. If you need to make New Year's toys for a kindergarten or school, and you have disposable tableware at home, then the problem is almost solved.

  1. Cut out a fourth of the plate so that a wedge comes out.
  2. Glue the resulting piece at the base of the plate cutout.
  3. We make a head out of cardboard or colored paper. To do this, you need to cut out an oval and glue it in the middle onto the workpiece.
  4. We decorate the angel with sparkles or gold and silver paint.
  5. We hook the rope.

Paper Christmas Crafts

You can also make an angel from ready-made Christmas tree snowflakes, which are sold in the store, or you can glue it from colored paper, sew it and even knit it. In general, there are many options.

Christmas tree made of cones, master class for school or kindergarten

The Christmas tree is a mandatory attribute of the winter holidays. It can be made from various materials: paper, cardboard, rain and even pine cones. This original Christmas tree will be a wonderful souvenir as a home decoration or a small gift.

Necessary materials

  • fir cone;
  • decorations for our Christmas tree: beads, bows;
  • paints (watercolors are suitable);
  • a small piece of polystyrene foam or a string. Paint the cone green and let it dry.
  1. We glue PVA decorations onto our Christmas tree: beads, bows, ribbons.
  2. If desired, add a little snow (cotton wool) or glitter to the branches.
  3. If you plan to use the Christmas tree as a New Year's toy, glue a string to the base of the pine cone. If it will serve as a souvenir, we attach a circle of foam plastic on which the product will stand.

DIY Christmas crafts with children, photo

You can make a Christmas tree from threads or rain. The principle of operation of both options is similar: a base is taken - a cone (made of cardboard), and then threads or rain are wound tightly together and fixed with glue or tape. Buttons of various colors and sizes are used as decorations for spruce threads. A rain Christmas tree can be decorated with real small toys and beads.

Atmospheric DIY Christmas crafts with children will bring joyful, memorable moments, decorate the house, and lift your spirits.

Christmas wreath

The Christmas wreath, which usually decorates the front door, came to us from the West, but fits perfectly into Orthodox and secular traditions and can be used both as a hanging decoration and as a decoration for candles or a separate decorative element.

To make a Christmas wreath, you will need a round ring base of a suitable size, usually from thick cardboard, less often from other materials, for example, flexible branches, twisted and tied together: metal and plastic rings are not considered a suitable base, but no one is stopping you from using and them. The next stage is to design this very ring: it is best to first wrap it with a fabric or lace ribbon of a color that matches the main decorative element, then use hot glue, threads or thin copper wire (can be combined) to attach the decor - pine branches, beads, bows, ribbons , pine or fir cones, etc. The more imagination, the better and more original; the presented photos can serve as both a source of inspiration and a model for you.

DIY Christmas star

The eight-pointed Christmas star symbolizes the guiding star that led the eastern sages to the born Baby.

It is this kind of star that has long crowned the Christmas tree and today is actively returning to its rightful place, which for almost a century was occupied by the communist red star or the faceless pointed “top”. The versions of the Christmas star shown in the photo are easy to make from available materials, for example, from salt dough:

  • knead the dough from 2 cups of wheat flour, 1 cup of salt and 1 tbsp. spoons of lemon juice, adding purified water gradually until the dough becomes smooth and elastic;
  • from the resulting dough, roll out a sheet about 2 cm thick on parchment paper, use a mold or a knife to make eight-pointed stars using a template previously cut out of paper;
  • dry the products for 3-4 hours in the oven (80 o C) or 2-3 days in the air in a ventilated room;
  • the finished stars are sanded with fine sandpaper and painted, covered with sparkles, rhinestones, etc., as your imagination dictates.

Making Christmas bells

Bells, as a symbol of church bells, are good both on a Christmas tree and as an independent decoration, and can be made from various available materials.

Christmas nativity scene made from scrap materials

The Nativity scene will perfectly complement the interior of your home, as it reproduces the traditional story of Christmas in a theatrical form. This is a complex, multi-element design that requires great skill to manufacture. However, as can be seen in the photos presented, there are many simpler and more modern versions of the nativity scene that can be made using simpler techniques and using the most affordable materials.

The new year has come! I would like to once again congratulate everyone and wish you happiness, good luck and fulfillment of desires! And Christmas is ahead of us - a bright and kind holiday. We will gather again at the festive table in a cozy company, which means we have another great reason to please our family and friends with gifts! Be original - make your own Christmas gifts!!!

Yes, there is not enough time left, but we will come up with something) What is customary to give for Christmas? As a rule, these are Christmas cards, decorative candles, candlesticks, angels or some other cute souvenirs. You know your family well enough, so making a choice will not be difficult.

Handmade Christmas gifts retain a piece of your warmth, so they will be received with gratitude!

Christmas cards

Traditional colors are red, blue, gold and white.

The blank for such a postcard can be cut out from white cardboard, and the image of an angel can be cut out from a magazine or an old postcard. You can find a beautiful picture on the Internet, print it and use it for a postcard.
If the background paper is white, tint it with watercolors using a sponge (for example, for washing dishes). To sew a sewing line along the edge, first make holes (use a thimble!), and then sew. As you can see, here the line goes only in places and this gives the card lightness and romance)

Snow specks can be made using a toothbrush and toothpaste; we all know this method from childhood!

If you are fond of scrapbooking and have a figured hole punch in your supplies, then making small snowflakes will not be difficult. And if not, don’t worry, the card will look cute enough without them! In addition, you can use a narrow ribbon and tie a beautiful golden bow, and then glue it to the card.

Using this principle, you can make 2 or 3 postcards, replacing only the central pictures and background color!

Candles are generally a win-win option! Designers often use candles in interior decor, so this Christmas gift is a great choice!

You can easily make original candles with your own hands! All you need is regular wax candles, wax molds (use green pea tins!), wax crayons and ice! The candles turn out very beautiful!

If you don’t want to make candles yourself, decorate ready-made ones and add some zest! Decoupage napkins will help you create original gift candles!

Want an even faster way? Please! Buy some decorative ribbon and decorate your candles! What could be simpler!? But it's beautiful, isn't it?

If you want your Christmas gift to be remembered for a long time, make a Christmas composition from candles, fresh flowers and sweets! Yes, you will have to work hard, but there will be no limit to the delight of those gifted!!!

A few more songs for inspiration!

DIY candlesticks

Another great Christmas gift is a candle holder!

To create such a candlestick you will need a small jar, matte varnish, acrylic paint, and a stencil.

First coat the jar with matte varnish. Pre-degrease the glass with alcohol.

Then, attaching a stencil to the jar, cover the image with silver acrylic paint.

To make the design more visible, use a brightly colored candle, such as red. You can choose decorative ribbon and other decorations to match the color of the candle.

You can always use decorative braid as decoration! She looks very impressive!

Christmas angels

Angels are a wonderful gift for Christmas, because many people associate them with Christmas, with the birth of Jesus Christ. Make an angel with your own hands and you definitely won’t go wrong!

A sheet of golden cardboard, some wire and a stencil is all you need! Such an angel will serve as an original decoration for the Christmas tree.
