  • If you don't know how to make a knot or chain stitch, read the instructions in the Tips section.
  • This scarf is knitted lengthwise, so the length of the chain will match the length of the finished scarf. You can make the chain longer or shorter depending on the desired length of the scarf, but the number of loops should be divided by two.
  • Work a single crochet into each stitch. To knit the first row, work a single crochet into the second loop from the hook, then through all the remaining loops to the end of the row. After finishing the row, turn the knitting over.

    • If you don't know how to single crochet, read about it in the Tips section.
    • When you knit this row, the scarf will be facing you.
  • In the next row, alternate single crochets and chain stitches. Work one chain stitch, then a single crochet into the first stitch of the previous row. Next, make an air loop, skip one loop of the previous row and knit a single crochet. Repeat until the end of the row, then turn the knitting over.

    • When you knit this row, the wrong side of the scarf will be facing you. From now on, the front and back rows will alternate.
  • Knit another row with the same single crochets and chain stitches. In the third row, knit one chain stitch, then a single crochet in the first gap of the previous row. To the end of the row, knit according to the following pattern: chain stitch, skip, single crochet in the next skip of the previous row.

    • Single crochet into the last stitch of the row and turn the knitting over.
  • In the fourth row, alternate single crochets and chain stitches again. Make a chain stitch, then single crochet into the first stitch of the previous row. To the end of the row, knit according to the same pattern: chain stitch, skip, single crochet in the next skip of the previous row. Repeat until you reach the last two stitches.

    • At the end of the row, work a single crochet, a chain stitch, a skip and then a single crochet into the last stitch of the row.
    • After finishing the row, turn the knitting over.
  • Repeat the previous two rows. For the fifth and sixth rows, repeat the same steps as for the third and fourth.

    • In the fifth row, knit one chain stitch, then single crochet in the first loop of the row. Knit one chain stitch, make a skip and knit a single crochet; repeat until the end of the row.
    • In the sixth row, work a chain stitch, then a single crochet into the first stitch of the row. Then make an air loop, a skip and knit a single crochet into the skip of the previous row. Repeat this pattern until the end of the row.
  • Knit the seventh row completely with single crochets. Make a chain stitch for lifting and work single crochets into each stitch and each skip of the previous row. Knit the entire row in this manner.

    • At the end of each row, turn the knitting over.
  • Among headwear, the scarf hood has an undeniable advantage. Protecting your head from rain, wind and cold, it easily turns into a stylish scarf tied around your neck. Snood is a beautiful accessory that complements any autumn or winter look. Tie it for yourself to be stylish and irresistible.

During autumn and winter walks, you want to look beautiful and feel comfortable. Snood helps a girl to be stylish and elegant. But you don’t have to buy this scarf accessory; you can knit it yourself.

    • If you are a beginner craftswoman, knit a simple snood according to the detailed pattern that will be presented below.
    • Experienced knitters will be able to find knitting patterns for new and interesting patterns on this page.
    • An openwork snood, crocheted, a scarf with a large pattern, plain, colored, melange, simple knitting - choose what you like, knit it and wear it with pleasure!

A voluminous scarf, knitted in the round, can be worn over a coat, or thrown over your head instead of a hood. How to crochet a snood?

A description for beginners will be located below. Knitting work begins with preparation:

    • Select yarn and hook. You will need 400 grams of thread (15% wool, 75% acrylic) and a 7 mm hook.
    • The length of the snood is calculated as follows: measure the length of your face from the chin to the crown, and multiply the resulting figure by the number of turns that you plan to make around your neck with the scarf. The result will be a number that will be equal to the full length of your future snood. 400 grams of thread is enough for a scarf 166 cm long.

Now you can start knitting. Schematic illustration of crocheting:

How to crochet a snood - diagram

    Follow these steps:

    • Knit chain stitches. The result should be a chain 166 cm long.
    • Complete the chain from air loops into a ring. Only after this can you start knitting the pattern.
    • Knit 4 stitches, and insert the hook into the second loop.
    • Knit 4 more stitches. Hook up the working thread and pull it through the last two loops of the two resulting stitches.
    • Knit one stitch up. Pass the hook through the next loop and repeat the process of creating the pattern (tie two columns of 4 loops and connect them).
    • Knit to the end of the row, close it, and repeat the whole pattern from the beginning.
    • Knit like this until you run out of yarn.

This is what a snood knitted from dark and denser threads will look like:

Every little girl wants to be fashionable and beautiful like her mother. Therefore, knit a snood for your daughter and please her with a new thing.

A beautiful crocheted children's snood for a girl for spring or autumn is easy to knit. You can use the same knitting pattern as for knitting a scarf for an adult.

If you are just learning to knit, then use the pattern described above - it is simple, and creating a circular scarf with it will be easy.

Before starting work, determine the dimensions of the future scarf-hood:

    • Measure the height of your daughter's face from chin to crown, and multiply by 2 or 3 (number of turns around the neck).
    • The total length of the snood will be, for example, 120 cm.

    Description of work:

    • Cast on 120 cm with air loops and close them into a ring.
    • Now knit 4 stitches.
    • Insert the hook into the second loop and knit 4 stitches again. Connect these two stitches by knitting the last two loops with a working thread.
    • Knit one stitch up and repeat the pattern.
    • Knit this way until the end of the row and close it into a ring.
    • Repeat the pattern until you get the desired scarf width.

Once you have mastered simple crochet, you can move on to more complex patterns.

    Use the following schemes:

Using this scheme, you will get the pattern described below. Read the description and create a masterpiece for your little princess.

Every mother wants to knit a warm hat for her daughter for the winter so that she covers both her head and neck. You can create a beautiful winter crocheted children's snood for a girl, which will both warm you up in the cold and become a beautiful addition to the girl's image.

This snood is beautiful to wear over a hat instead of a hood, or worn around the neck as a warm scarf. This accessory can be knitted using any pattern. In any case, it will turn out interesting and stylish.

Here is a description of a beautiful snood pattern that will be warm and luxurious:

    • Cast on 80-120 chain stitches using crochet hook No. 10.
    • Close the knitting in a circle, threading the working thread through the last loops.
    • Now knit a half double crochet: make one chain loop and yarn over the hook, and knit the next loop as usual. After this, knit all the loops on the hook (there are 3 of them).
    • Then repeat the pattern again with a chain loop and a half double crochet. Knit this way around the entire knitting ring. Connect the ring by crocheting through all the lifting loops.
    • Make a loop and pull it out a little to create a fluffy design. Now knit with a half double crochet (all loops are equally large), and pull the hook with the working thread through the resulting three loops. Fasten these loops and start knitting further along the pattern.
    • Knit this way until the end of the ring, fasten the loops and close the ring.
    • Knit the next row in the same way as the previous one, but each new loop of 3 begins with an arched gap, which is formed between the volumetric loops of the pattern.
    • When you have knitted the desired width of the scarf, you can finish knitting by closing the loops around the ring.

The sizes of the snood can be very different, depending on how many times you want to wrap this scarf-collar around your neck. Watch how to knit the puffy stitch pattern in the video below.

And here is another video describing how to knit a warm snood. The fishtail pattern is voluminous and dense, which means the scarf will be warm and comfortable.

Not only girls, but also boys love to wear a scarf-collar. Even little boys can wear a snood for an autumn or spring look.

To knit such a scarf for a boy, do not choose threads of too bright colors. Dark blue, green, brown, beige - this range of colors is great for creating a snood for boys.

The pattern should be simple, not lacy. Here is a crochet snood pattern for a boy for spring and autumn:

For knitting, prepare 2 skeins of yarn and hook No. 5. This is what you should end up with:

You can take multi-colored yarn, or you can make a single-color snood. If you buy another skein of the same thread, then there will be enough for a hat. Description of this knitting:

    • Cast on 320 chain stitches and knit a chain. Close the knitting to make a ring.
    • Now knit in the round with single crochets behind the back half loop. Insert the hook away from you on the knitted bottom row towards the wrong side. The result should be a “pigtail” of half loops.
    • Knit like this until you run out of yarn or until you knit a scarf of the desired width.

The result will be a relief snood with an interesting, but at the same time, openwork pattern. The size of the snood will be about 2 meters in full length. You can wrap this scarf 3 times - you will get a beautiful and warm product.

For a winter snood for a boy, choose thicker and softer yarn. The pattern, just like for a demi-season scarf, should not be complicated - everything is simple and easy. Also prepare a hook No. 4.5 or No. 5.

Description of winter crochet snood for boys:

    • Knit a chain of chain stitches. It must be at least 120 cm long. Use a connecting post to connect the beginning and end of the chain.
    • Now knit the lifting loops - there should be four of them.
    • Continue knitting with single crochets, but not with regular knitting, but with skipping and pulling through the base loop: insert the hook into the second loop from the beginning of the lifting loops. The first loop is passed, the thread is grabbed and pulled through the base loop.
    • There will be 2 loops on the hook; there is no need to knit them. Take the working thread with your hook and knit only one loop from the hook. There are again 2 loops on the hook.
    • Grab the working thread again and knit again only the first loop from the hook. Now knit both stitches together.
    • Continue doing this throughout the circular chain.
    • The result was a pattern: “pigtail” and a separate thread. Therefore, when knitting the next row, insert the hook so that a separate thread from the previous row remains behind the hook. Thanks to this technique, you will get a smooth transition from row to row.
    • Continue knitting, leaving a thread behind the hook, near each column.
    • Knit the third and remaining rows in the same way.

    You will get this pattern:

A snood with such a pattern looks beautiful on both little boys and teenagers. The size of the scarf-collar can be reduced so that the boy wraps his neck not three, but twice. This will make the image more solid and stylish.

Every mother can knit such a scarf. It's perfect for a girl. The child will be warm in such a collar, as it replaces a hat and scarf at the same time.

Snood with crochet ears for girls - description:

    • Single crochet in each stitch. Knit 50 rows like this.
    • Knit the last row with pink thread in single crochets.

Separately knit the ears (4 parts):

    • Using a pink thread, cast on 3 loops into the ring.
    • First row- 7 single crochets, connect into a ring.
    • Second row- 14 stitches - 2 single crochets in each stitch.
    • Third row- 21 stitches - repeat this knitting 7 times: 1 single crochet in the first stitch, 2 single crochets in the second stitch.
    • Fourth row- 28 stitches - repeat the pattern 7 times: 1 single crochet in the first stitch, 2 single crochet in the next 2 stitches.
    • Now take a gray thread and knit further: fifth row - 35 stitches - knit 1 single crochet 7 times in the first stitch and the same number of times 2 stitches in the next 3 stitches.
    • Sixth row- 42 stitches - repeat 7 times: 1 single crochet in the first stitch and 2 single crochets in the next 4 stitches.
    • Seventh row- 1 single crochet in the first 8 stitches.

Once the ear pieces are connected, sew them together. After this, attach the ears to the snood, as in the photo. Here is the ear knitting pattern:

For a boy, you can knit the same snood, but use other thread colors, for example, the main one is dark green and light green trim, or the main one is dark blue and light blue trim.

The scarf can be knitted with a single crochet using the back loop. Below is a diagram of such a knitting:

    Description of knitting a scarf-hood.

    Right side of the scarf.

Using a 2-ply thread, cast on 52 stitches and knit as follows: edging, 4 p. garter stitch, 16 p. pattern with braids according to pattern A, 10 p. stockinette stitch, 16 p. pattern with braids according to pattern B, 4 p. garter stitch, chrome.

When the length of the scarf is 70 cm (140 rows), bind off 46 loops in the front row and continue on the remaining 6 loops in garter stitch (for the placket). After 76 rows (36 cm), transfer these loops to the holder.

    Left side of the scarf.

Knit as on the right side, but perform the placket on the left, for which cast off 46 loops in the purl row and continue with garter stitch on 6 loops. After 76 rows (36 m), transfer the loops to another holder.

    Hood.

When the height of the fabric is 56 cm (112 rows), mark the 2 central loops with markers and begin forming the hood:

Track. R. formation (RS): chrome, 4 p. garter stitch, 16 p. pattern with braids according to pattern A, knit 1, slip 1 p., knit 1. and stretch it through the removed stitch (1 stitch is decreased with a slant to the left), then 28 stitches in stockinette stitch, then in front of the two central loops, knit 1 stitch from the broach. behind the rear wall, 2 persons. Track. R. (IS): knit according to the pattern.

Repeat the shaping row 7 more times on each knit row. Next, knit straight according to the pattern. 18 cm (36 rows) after the last row of formation, make the back of the hood with shortened rows as follows: on the front row, knit according to the pattern until the 1st loop in front of the center, turn the work with 1 yarn over and knit the purl row to the end. Transfer the loops of the left side of the hood to the holder. On the next knit row, knit up to 2 stitches before the turning stitch and turn the work again with 1 yarn over. Next, shorten each front row by 2 stitches again, by 3 stitches twice and by 4 stitches twice (always turn with 1 crochet). Then transfer the loops of the right side to the holder and knit the loops from the holder for the left side of the hood in shortened mirror rows: from the center, shorten the row by 1 stitch 1 time, by 2 stitches twice, by 3 stitches twice and by 4 stitches twice. Transfer the loops of the left side of the hood to the holder.
Block parts. Connect 6 p. strips from the holders using the grafting method. Then, in the same way, connect the hood loops (yarn over together with the next loop as 1 loop). Sew the cast-on row of the hood to the long side of the placket (see pattern). Then sew both sides of the scarf and hood. Make 34 tassels (17 for each side of the scarf) from 9 threads, 40 cm long. Fold the pieces in half and hook the center into the loop on the bottom edge of the scarf, then pull the threads into the resulting loop, tighten and tie a knot. Attach all brushes evenly.

When compiling our selection, we can safely say that the easiest way to knit a snood across is to alternate the air loops and sts. with a so-called fillet mesh. Moreover, if you change the texture of the yarn, you will get a completely different model.

    Play with yarn:

    • thick wool or acrylic will make a voluminous snood for the winter;
    • made from fine mohair or wool mixture, a delicate product for the off-season;
    • They also knit snoods from grass or terry polyacrylic, which are quite warm and fluffy. Children especially love them.

The most popular are, of course, warm snoods; a new item this season is the waffle pattern.

It is not necessary to knit a scarf from expensive yarn; it is enough to take a good wool blend or acrylic. The item will definitely be warm if you can wrap it around your neck in two turns.

    Snoods - scarves for children

A children's scarf differs from an adult's only in size. We advise not to knit particularly bulky patterns for children, because they hinder movement; it is difficult for a child to raise his arm or turn his head if there is a mountain of yarn hanging around his neck. By the way, yarn should also be chosen much more carefully than for an adult. The scarf comes into contact with the tender cheeks of children, take this into account when buying yarn for your next product.

This simple sign will help you choose the size of the snood if you cannot choose it yourself:
