Christmas tree house made of matches

An unusual decorative toy for the Christmas tree for New Year 2020 could be a miniature house made with your own hands from matches. Such a craft will certainly require some time and skill to make, but the result will pleasantly surprise you.

To work you will need:

  • matches;
  • glue;
  • rope for hanging on the Christmas tree.

Manufacturing process:

  1. We take the required number of matches and first create a base from them, consisting of wooden parts connected to each other with glue.
  2. Now let's start assembling the house itself. We should “build” the toy figure on the dried base. We make the floor of the house, fastening it with glue.
  3. Then we move on to the walls. We need to collect them one by one in a circle and place them on glue. On one wooden piece of the first wall we place the second piece of the next wall. And so on in a circle until the required height of the house is formed.
  4. During the manufacturing process, windows should be highlighted with match sulfur, as in the photo.
  5. We make the roof from two plates glued together, consisting of matches. If desired, you can also create a smoker by gluing halves of parts, gray side up, to the surface of the constructed roof. This is the DIY craft we made for New Year 2020.

Finally

Our article has now come to its end, which has provided you with a lot of useful information on how you can make many wonderful crafts from matches for the New Year 2020 with your own hands. Despite the fact that this material is considered to be especially dangerous for children, in this case they can freely come into contact with it, but, again, in the presence of adults, since sulfur can cause poisoning if it enters the body of children. If you work with your family for a week on the eve of the holidays, you will be provided with a wide range of New Year's decorations for gifts or home decor. Happy holiday, dear friends! Creative prosperity to you!

The simplest and most accessible material for creativity can rightfully be called ordinary matches. Painstaking work with them perfectly helps to relax, develop patience, imagination, perseverance, accuracy and attention. And in talented hands, products made from ordinary matches can become original works of art.

Required materials

In this master class we suggest making a match house without glue.

To build a house you will need:

  • matches - 10 boxes;
  • box for CD discs or a sheet of cardboard;
  • coin - 1 or 2 rubles.

Match house without glue

For beginners, instead of a disc box, it is better to take a thinly rolled piece of plasticine or salt dough as a basis. It is easier to install vertical matches on such a base.

Let's start assembling the product. The scheme of operation is quite simple. Take two matches and place them on the base parallel to each other at a distance of two centimeters.

Lay a flooring of eight matches on top of them. The distance between the elements should be equal to the thickness of approximately one match. In this case, all heads should be directed in one direction.

On top of this level, make another similar flooring, but lay the matches perpendicular to the previous ones.

Place four matches on top of the third level in the shape of a well, so that the heads of each match are directed in different directions.

Lay six more rows of matches in the same way. Make sure the heads are facing in the same direction. The result should be a “well” of seven rows of four matches.

Cover the top of the well with a layer of eight matches, repeating the very first flooring.

Place six matches perpendicular to this flooring. Later, two more will need to be added to this row.

Four matches need to be inserted vertically into the extreme corners of the resulting “grid”. In the photo these places are circled in red.

To make it more convenient to work and to prevent the elements of the house from accidentally falling apart, it is better at this step to place a coin on top of the structure and press it tightly with your finger.

When installing vertical matches, make sure that all the matches at the bottom are in the same corners as at the top. For convenience, you can guide them with a toothpick.
Be extremely careful, as at this stage the house is still quite fragile and can collapse with any careless movement. It’s not a problem if the matches that lie on top move apart; a little later everything will fall into place.

Now insert vertical matches around the entire perimeter of the house, lowering them to the very bottom of the structure so that the match heads are at the same level from above.

You won't need the coin anymore; remove it with tweezers.

Now the house has stable walls, but to really strengthen it, squeeze all its sides with your hand. At this stage you can already pick it up, it will not collapse, although the design is not yet completely reliable.

Squeeze each side carefully. The tighter you squeeze, the stronger it will be as a result. Be sure to line up all the matches so everything is neat and nothing sticks out.

Finally, turn the product over with the foundation facing up.

From the outside, start inserting matches vertically with their heads up, thereby further strengthening the walls.

Then place a new, but horizontal layer of matches along the outer walls. Please note that the heads of the matches must intersect alternately, as shown in the photo.

Strengthen the four new corners with matches.

11. New Year's toy - the house is ready!

Everyone prepares for the New Year differently, some do it, some for the holiday table, and I’ll also tell you how to make a Christmas tree out of matches with your own hands. You can make a lot of these Christmas trees and place them as decorations throughout the house, you can also paint them in different colors, then it will be even more original.

To create a Christmas tree from matches, we will of course need the matches themselves, one toothpick for the trunk of the tree, and also PVA glue.

To make the craft original, we clean the sulfur and sharpen the ends of the matches with a knife. Moreover, we will need blanks of various sizes, since the tree tapers towards the top. We do everything as shown in the pictures with step-by-step photo instructions.

To begin, make five matches of different sizes downhill.

Then, using the longest piece as a guide, make five more matches, resulting in six matches.

We lay out the Christmas tree branches. We take two match blanks and place them side by side, but so that another match fits between them. We put two other matches on top and glue them.

We glue the third pair of branches at a different angle from above. This is the first or, one might say, the lower tier of our matchstick tree.

The next step is to take each match size from the first photo and make five more pieces and glue them together in the same way.

At the very bottom of the base of the tree, pour a little glue and insert a toothpick there - this is the trunk.
